When should I replace my pillow?

Pillows may seem like a second thought behind our mattress, but they are just as important and should be replaced regularly.

Pillows are an essential part of quality sleep because they are necessary to keep great head, neck, spine alignment and comfort while in bed. We recommend not buying that $5 pillow from your local discount store when you buy a new or replace your old pillow. This is definitely not an item to cheap out on or fail to replace. Most doctors recommend you to replace your pillow every 12-24 month because of the significant effect a pillow can have on our quality of sleep.

The problem with most pillows is that they flatten out over time because of use. Most cheap pillows use low-quality materials which break down quickly. Additionally, many pillows don't have a removable cover that is washable, so it is important for general hygiene to find one you can fully launder to combat excess bacteria, oils, and dust build up.

Lastly, pillows are an investment in your health. A bad positioned neck or lack of support can potentially make you toss and turn, wake up at night, or create a stiff neck which will affect your whole day.
